Product Description
The Mettler Toledo ML204 NewClassic analytical balance has a capacity of 220 g and an accuracy of 0.0001 g (also called readability), and large, high-contrast digital display. A one-touch internal adjustment button immediately adjusts the balance to account for various weighing environments, while the high-performance weighing cell offers consistently reliable measurements. The balance can be operated using AC power or eight standard AA (LR6) batteries, offering full mobility in the field and when a power supply is hard to find, for more than eight hours. The below-balance weighing hook suspends bulky items beneath the balance for weighing. The weighs in 15 different units and tares over the entire weighing range. The built-in time and date function enables work in compliance with good practices in many industries, including food and pharmaceutical. Among the built-in applications are piece counting, percent weighing, dynamic weighing, and statistics, with a programmable button providing shortcut access for routine tasks. The side RS232 port allows for quick connection to a printer, computer, or bar code reader. Adjustable front feet provide level measurements and stability, while the overload protection prevents damage to the weighing cell and the balance if too-heavy samples are mistakenly used. The ABS plastic and die-cast aluminum housing protect the internal weighing cell from environmental influences and impact, and the stainless steel weighing pan resists corrosion from spills of most sample materials. The balance is rated to IP54 level of protection to shield against dust and splashing water during use. The glass panels of the draft shield are dishwasher-safe and autoclaveable. A protective cover protects the balance during storage. Balances are measuring instruments used to determine the mass of an object, while scales are used to measure the weight of an object. The measurement results from balances are generally considered to be more precise compared to results from scales. Mechanical balances are the simplest type of balance, and use a lever and slide to indicate the measurement. Conventional balances are commonly used in offices, the jewelry industry, and in kitchens, and display results digitally, but are less precise than analytical balances. Analytical balances measure to a high degree of precision and accuracy (0.0001 g or better), and display results digitally. These balances have a cover with doors to prevent dust and airflow from affecting the measurement. Moisture balances analyze moisture content in a material sample, using infrared or halogen heat sources to dry the sample and then calculate the moisture content from the before- and after-drying weight, and display results digitally, on the balance, or transfer the information for display on a computer. Mettler-Toledo manufactures precision instruments for use in research, scientific, and quality control labs for the pharmaceutical, chemical, food, and cosmetics industries. This company, founded in 1989, is headquartered in Switzerland. What’s in the Box? - Mettler Toledo ML204 NewClassic analytical balance
